Each object, such as user, user group, organizational unit, application, application part, role or directory port can have an unlimited number of properties defined in their settings sections. If you need to define a new property or modify an existing one, expand the "Custom Properties" item in the main menu and choose an appropriate object type.

 

		Important Note
		If you hesitate between using custom properties or custom fields (these are only available for users), please consider if you need to only store and retrieve this attribute (then use a custom property) or if you need to create reports and run queries using this attribute (then use a custom field). Access to custom properties is generally slower than to custom fields.
