template

A predesigned database that already includes tables, forms, reports, and other object types. You can use a template to quickly create a database. Access includes several common database templates.

Text field

The most common type of Access field, this field stores (as its name implies) text. Keep in mind that some text fields can contain text, numbers, or a combination. For instance, a phone number is best stored as a text field because you aren't likely to perform numerical calculations on that field.
