| Use Case Purpose: | The purpose of this use case is to close (that is, allow no further updates) and archive the Clinical Records. This places the specific (based on Resident) Clinical Records out of daily use. |

This use case will be automatically executed once a day, between 12:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. This use case can also be invoked by the Medical Records Manager. Record Destruction Date is set for 7 years (default) after closure. Clinical Records are to be closed 14 days after the Resident leaves the facility. |
Basic Flow:
| A. | All Clinical Records are examined for each Resident to determine whether the Resident is deceased or has left the facility. |
| B. | For all deceased Residents, the Clinical Records for those Residents are closed (that is, locked against update) and are added to the Records Closure Schedule for immediate closure. |
| C. | For all Residents who have left, the Clinical Records for those Residents are added to the Records Closure Schedule for scheduled closure. |
| D. | All Clinical Records scheduled for closure are moved to the Archive. |
| E. | The Records Closure Schedule is updated to reflect the closures. |
| F. | The Records Destruction Schedule is updated for each of the newly closed Clinical Records. |
