Appendix C: Setting Up a Basic Object Modeling/C# Environment

In this appendix, we explain the "bare bones" requirements for downloading a trial version of an OO modeling tool and the .NET Framework Software Developer's Kit so that you may experiment with C# while reading our book.

We also provide a number of tips on how to get C# to "behave" under various scenarios. Note that our tips aren't all encompassing; they are simply provided as a professional courtesy, in the hope that you may find something useful among them. For full details on how to properly install and configure a given software tool, please consult the appropriate vendor's instructions.

Object Modeling Tools

Rather than publishing information about the wide variety of object modeling tools that are available at little or no cost, we ask that you visit http://objectstart.com for our latest suggestions on tools that you might wish to download and evaluate. Vendor offerings change regularly; links to these offerings change regularly; and the details for downloading and installing various tools are highly vendor dependent.
