Chapter 9: XML Data Entry and Validation

Overview

The last chapter was a lot of fun, what with playing around with new and extended controls and all.

This chapter is the last of the "how to validate data" chapters. You pretty much know all there is to know by now concerning data entry and validation with user-entered data. I even covered some of the ways you can get machine input such as RS-232 input and file I/O.

What I have not covered yet is Extensible Markup Language (XML). That is what this chapter is all about kind of. I am not going to go into great depth about XML, so I expect you to know the basics of XML and how a well-formed XML document should look.
