Figure 2: Spreading of differences through four consecutive rounds. The left-side squares stand for the input values of the rounds. The sum of the numbers of bytes that are changed at the inputs of the four rounds equals 28. We can show that, in Square, this sum over four consecutive rounds is always at least 25.
