Formatting Date and Time Values
Access provides formatting symbols and predefined formats for date and time values that allow you to display different combinations of the time, date, and day. The predefined formats include a general form, which displays the date and time, as well as short, medium, and long forms of the date and time.
Specify a Date and Time Format
 | Display the table in Design view, and then click a date and time field. |
 | Click the Format list arrow. |
 | Select a format from the predefined list of formats, or enter the appropriate formatting symbols. |
