Hour 8. Creating Tables

It is useful to think of the process of table design as being similar to the process of building a foundation for a house. Just as a house with a faulty foundation will fall over, an application with a poor table design will be difficult to build, maintain, and use. This hour covers all the ins and outs of table design in Access 2003. After this hour, you will be ready to build the other components of an application, knowing that the tables you design provide the application with a strong foundation. In this hour you'll learn the following:

  • How to build a new table

  • How to select the appropriate field type for data

  • How to add a primary key to a table
